David Hammons

MacArthur fellow, David Hammons, has served as a member of Tribes board for nearly 20 years. A world-renowned artist with roots in the Civil Rights and Black Power movements, Hammons works are currently on permanent display at numerous institutions around the world, including the Tate, London, the MOMA, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Hammons’ dedication to fostering sustainable careers for radical and revolutionary artists is deeply aligned with Tribes mission and informs our ongoing programming.
