Carlos Manuel Rivera is a Puerto Rican poet-performer and actor. He is a full professor of Spanish and a researcher at Bronx Community College, City University of New York. Rivera won the Puerto Rican Institute of Culture International Contest’s First Prize, 2013 in the Essay category for his book, So We Don’t Forget: Essays of Interpretation of the Puerto Rican Marginal Theater (2014).  Among his publications are: Popular Theater: The New Poor Theater of America by Pedro Santaliz (Gestos, 2005); Magical Non-Senses (Orbis Press, 2003); and Bululu. Parfum and Poison (2020).  In addition to his book publications, Rivera recorded a spoken word CD entitled Asi Mi Nacion (2010).
