Written by Phaedra Pinskton Ohio natives Caitlin Hickerson and Lauren Sara Barnes create designs for motive and enthrallment.  The Kent State graduates just launched their fall 2010 collection at the coterie trade show during New York City's fashion week in February. The two artist became interested in fashion out of admiration for the theatrics.  Both designers describe their designs as, "Refinery, allure, austerity, provocation. functionality, and a striking linear feel."  Advice both Hickerson and Barnes have for all those aspiring fashion designers is, "The work must initially serve as the artist's outlet for expression while ultimately serving the market."
