Author Bios
Margarita Shalina was born in Leningrad and raised in the Lower East Side. Her poetry and writing has appeared in A Gathering of the Tribes, The Brooklyn Rail, Yeti, and many, many other places. In 2011, Melville House published her translation of Anton Chekhov's The Duel. She has two stories in St. Petersburg Noir, an anthology published by Akashic Books in August 2012. Margarita is also the Independent Press Buyer for St. Mark's Bookshop.
Michelle Campagna is an MFA candidate in poetry at Sarah Lawrence College. After getting her B.A. in English from UCLA, she lived and danced in Europe for three years, then came back home to study translation through NYU. She is the current Managing Editor of LUMINA, Sarah Lawrence’s literary journal, and an interning curator for the MIXER Reading & Music Series. Her poems and translations have appeared in Lana Turner, Babel, Westwind, Autolycus, and online at sdtopic.com.
Garrett Burrell is the Resident Poet at the New American Writers Cooperative and author of The Plague Doctor. He once edited poetry for the amazing online literary magazine, At-Large. He lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where he is working on a poetry book about Charles Darwin, Alfred Russel Wallace, and evolution.
Patrick Kosiewicz wrote The Geoglyph (Fly-by-Night Press, 2009) and How Many Suns Burn Over Babel Where Poets Die (Farfalla Press, 2012).
