Floyd Abrams warns of threat Trump administration poses to free press
During an appearance on CNN’s Reliable Sources, famed First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams discussed the real danger that the media faces in the age of a Donald Trump presidential administration. Abrams noted that although libel laws differ from state to state, Trump “could lead the public to be so anti-press” that even if it didn’t destroy the press, it could “limit its ability to do its constitutionally protected role.”

French journalist deported from Turkey after earlier arrest
French journalist Olivier Bertrand has been released following his arrest in Turkey which had drawn condemnation from the French government. Bertrand, who works for French news website lesjours.fr, was detained on Friday while reporting in the town of Gaziantep, just north of Turkey's border with Syria.

Another journalist shot dead in Bihar
Journalist Dharmendra Singh, who worked for a reputed Hindi daily, was shot dead on Saturday morning in Sasaram. The murder takes places exactly six months after another journalist with a Hindi paper was gunned down in Siwan.
